What was reported
The police record contains a report of non-recent child sexual abuse at Malsis School and later strands involving named people, records and proposed enquiries across the Metropolitan Police, North Yorkshire, Northamptonshire and Gloucestershire. The complete report confines this account to what the police records themselves capture.
The central failure
North Yorkshire identified Ann Edwards as a disclosure witness and recorded that with her evidence “it is likely the CPS will charge” [R]. The Metropolitan Police spoke to her in 2024 but withheld the content. Northamptonshire had also spoken to her by December 2024, relied on what she said and withheld the content in writing. It later promised a formal interview. The subject's contemporaneous [A] record states that its officer spoke to her informally again in 2026. The force then closed in June 2026 because it had been unable to interview her formally.
The repeated pattern
No suspect was interviewed under caution in any strand opened since January 2024.
